In addition to receiving our monthly newsletter, Backyard Pests, members of The Garden Club of Kent can participate in a unique line-up of events:

- Two major plant sales: the Mother’s Day Hanging Basket Sale and the Memorial Day Weekend Annual Plant Sale
 

- Our monthly dinner meetings with featured speakers on a variety of gardening-related topics
 

- Annual events like the President’s Banquet, June Picnic, August Corn Roast & Tomato Festival, October’s Harvest Moon Festival and December’s holiday celebration and bake-off
 

- Our very own annual Horticulture & Photography Show in August

- Gardening workshops presented by fellow gardeners

- Botanically-themed arts-and-crafts workshops.

PLUS!

- Every year, we award college scholarships to students at Kent Roosevelt High School who will pursue a field of study related to horticulture or environmental studies.

- We have reinvigorated our Community Beautification Awards program to recognize outstanding achievements in home gardening. We also recognize the beautification efforts of local businesses with an annual Community Beautification Award.

Get involved! Join the club and then join a committee and/or volunteer to help with any of our activities. Everything we do as a club depends on members who volunteer their time and talents.
